Mid Season Impressions: Summer 2020

Hey hey, finally back for another post.

Sorry if I haven’t been pushing out content lately, been really tired from work and didn’t really have a lot of content to write. But now that I’m back, let’s get this post started.

Rent A Girlfriend

So far so good, in a way that it might start a form of PTSD for me.

A lot of roasting on me, a lot of salt sprinkling on me. I feel like this show exists to ridicule me just for existing.

But overall the show has really nailed every aspect of being desperately single, and this is coming from a single guy.

Enjoying this show, despite the constant call outs I get from the show.

Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu 2nd Season

This show is definitely worthy of being a successor.

Despite the slow pacing, the buildup has been rather solid and amazing. Another villain finally returns.

The constant thirst for more, just keeps on keeping me thirsty.

Another good thing to add into the season is the amazing amount of waifus we are getting this season as well.

Monster Musume no Oisha-san

Okay, this show this week has been decent, it did improve since the last seasonal impression post.

I don’t really want to talk about it too much, since this show is really really lacking, even MonMusu was more entertaining despite the fanservice.

But I am not dropping this since they actually improved.

Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld Part 2

Okay, the pacing is still questionable, but they will probably have to make an extremely rushed ending.

Ordinal Scale’s feature into last week’s episode isn’t all that surprising, but in fact I guessed it. It was wonderful, I loved that part.

As for this week, the whole Kirito buildup feels a little condensed, but not too condensed. This show finally peaks next week.

Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha

This show isn’t ALL that bad. I don’t get why people just jump on the hate train when a show gets “generic”.

I mean, it feels a little generic, but this show has been delivering a lot, if I were to compare Kenja no Mago or Hachi-nan tte, Sore wa Nai deshou!

I genuinely love this show so far, but not to the point that I sit down and wait every week.

Enen no Shouboutai: Ni no Shou

This season is a little slow, but I guess it compensates with better comedy.

I don’t think there is a need to say a lot about this show, enjoying it thoroughly, embracing the fanservice thoroughly.

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Kan

This season is definitely the most refined one out of all 3 seasons. I actually understand the show now, I want to rewatch the first 2 seasons just to understand everything about the show.

I really cannot wait for more. This is going to be one epic ending.

Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai!

With all the end hate aside and problems with Uzaki’s character design, I am actually enjoying this show way more than I thought.

I really cannot wait for more. If people just watch a show for its content than going all out criticizing and ridiculing how certain Asians actually look like in real life, this show would have gotten a lot of love.

This show is a call for Westerners to wake up, look at Asia, and understand that we age better than you, certain people just looks petite. Certain people who don’t exist in their place doesn’t mean that they don’t exist elsewhere.

But I guess reasoning don’t work, so being a short Asian is offensive to them.

This show doesn’t end here, since I didn’t get to write a midseason impressions with some old shows, I decided to add them in here.

Shokugeki no Souma: Gou no Sara

This season is going to 13 episodes, I think we might be looking at another 3rd plate with split cours, unless they are going to condense everything down to 13. I feel that we were scratching the surface with this arc.

Okay back to the story though, it has been really solid, Tsukasa getting that defeat isn’t that much of a shocker to be honest, since they set him up to lose anyway. I wished Tsukasa would come in at a slightly later point and make the battle last for like 1.5 episodes, that would actually add some form of suspense.

But anyhow, this show is

Houkago Teibou Nisshi

So far so damn good. Koshimizu Ami as a teacher is definitely a 10/10 for me.

The more I watch this show, the more I get flashbacks to 2014 where I spend my summer watching such chill summer-esque shows. I am extremely fond of those memories, which lead me to enjoy this show a lot more than I expected.

I really cannot wait for more fishing.

I guess this is it for this week. Next week I will write up on Fukushima 50. Will also look at my anime list and see if I have missed out on anything to write up on.

I will see you all then!
