Mid-Season Thinking Stuff

Heyo, I’m finally back for some seasonal stuff.

This has been a rather weird season, so this post isn’t going to be very long. A lot of shows got cut so it is a little frustrating. A lot of my weekdays have zero shows.

This show always been my thing throughout the season. Despite the rather slow pacing, but the romance is finally about to start blooming.

I think the pacing should speed up a little, because we are already mid-season and time is running out. But I wish there is more drama, a little more plot twists and possibly a love triangle.

I still love the show despite the shortcoming.

Gal to Kyouryuu

What should I say about this show… I really don’t know.

I really enjoy the show so far, my passion for gyarus is finally revived, since Hajimete no Gal.

This show doesn’t really need context, or actually any review, since it’s a mess. But since this show is made by people who made Pop Team Epic, I don’t think there is a need for this show to actually make sense.

Yeah this show is a little underwhelming, despite the massive momentum for the first 2 eps. And the show is going to fully rely on fanservice to keep its momentum.

I’m always okay with the fanservice since I’m pretty much numb about it, but even on the other side, the story just lacks substance and pacing. It has been rather slow still.

I don’t think things will change, but I don’t hate the show so I won’t drop it, since I am running out of shows.

Hachi-nan tte, Sore wa Nai deshou!

I really don’t know about this show. It is slowly creeping towards the harem genre. Even though I am fine with harem, but this show is getting pretty darn boring.

The slight hint of darkness and momentum of the first 3 episodes did pull me in, I also watched it because SynergySP is animating this one. Looks like my senses are off.

This show needs to start taking risks and pull off more plot twists as most episodes pretty much feels pretty linear.

Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen 2

This show so far has been rather nice. I was really disappointed with S1, S2 really brought me back.

The story has been pretty deep. The plot twists isn’t much, but the story has been staking on development alone, which is risky, but they are executing things pretty nicely.

This season really saved the entire series. I really enjoyed it. Animations looked rather stark as time goes on, but since this show didn’t need much quality, so I will just not nitpick.

Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai?: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen

This season is miles ahead from S1. It’s a literal meme gold mine.

Anyone who hate this show must be fun at parties. I don’t think I need to write much here. Every step they make has been pretty much on the right direction. I mean, even if they stray away, it will still be pretty epic.

It is pretty bad. This show really baited me.

I feel like Takahashi Rie need to stop taking roles as her voice has been pretty much the same for so many years. That really made me feel like the show felt pretty bland.

The rest of the cast were doing a great job, since it’s a pretty stacked cast.

Not just her, but the story has been pretty much rushed. The buildup in the first episode was so epic though.

I am really tempted to drop this.

Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shiteshimatta…

I don’t think anyone can hate this show as well.

Things are so dramatic, out of proportion. Everything is pretty much perfect.

I can’t wait to watch this show every week.

Shachou, Battle no Jikan desu!

I love things.

Jokes aside. This show is a chill show, it’s a game adaptation. People are expecting way too much out of such shows.

I am enjoying this show, and it’s probably one of the better game adaptations. There are bad ones out there, but this one is enough to entertain me.

That animation controversy aside, this show has been pretty okay.

So finally they got their first game, I wish they could keep that momentum going and start participating more games.

But this show has been entertaining me for a fair bit.

Tsugu Tsugumomo

So far this season has been better than the first season… at putting fanservice.

The story should have picked up at this point, if we are comparing this one with S1.

But this show has been rather decent, it’s not necessarily bad, but it needs more development, that’s for sure.

Yesterday wo Utatte

This is probably one of the best slice-of-life show I had in a long time.

The developments keeps on piling. The plot twists keeps delivering. If you need more context, do watch Extra.

I don’t think I need to say more. It’s a great show.

So that’s it for my mid-season stuff. As for my Golden Time rewatch, I am about 6 more episodes to go, but I am taking my time in watching the show, so expect a re-review by next week. After Golden Time, it’s Cross Ange, another long show.

I will see you guys soon.

One response to “Mid-Season Thinking Stuff

  1. It’s a shame Listeners turned out bad in the end. I was expecting something good from Mappa.

I’m probably going to skip most of this season since a lot of shows are getting delayed. Though I am planning on watching BNA and Yesterday since I’ve heard confirmation that all episodes have finished production.
