Hi hi, I’m back for another post. Finally we get to talk about seasonals.
This season has been a weird one. A lot of shows have been postponed, reducing my list by a big chunk, so I decided to browse the list again and picked up a few weird shows in exchange. This will kinda annul half of my Plan-To-Watch post previously, but anyhow, lets get this post started. I think I picked up more shows than the ones that are postponed so yeah, this is going to get pretty long.
I am extremely glad that I picked up this show, I have been thirsty for such shows. This is a seinen show, but it gives off some shoujo vibes for some reason.
It has been ages since I listened to Komatsu Mikako being a lead character, it feels refreshing. But 2 episodes in and the comedy, drama is doing a really good job at reeling me in.
Good OP and ED, character designs are on-point as well. Now we wait for the romance to bloom…
I feel that Toei is clinging on this series for a little too much, to the point that they are willing to reboot it.
It is a breath of fresh air, 2 evolutions already in 2 episodes, I feel like the pacing is going a little too quick. Not going to expect a lot out of this reboot.
Gal to Kyouryuu
I was skeptical at first, BUT I’m glad that I pick this show up. I picked this up literally 2 episodes in.
I was actually very familiar with the animation techniques and storytelling style. After a little bit of research, Kamikaze Douga, the ones who made Pop Team Epic, was making this anime as well.
I really love their outlandish ways of telling stories that just straight up don’t make sense. But yeah, I love this show. No need to worry about actually sticking to a storyline since its all a mess.
Shimabukuro Miyuri is doing a pretty nice job being a gal as well.
Okay, this show went dark extremely quick.
I was pretty sure I read the ecchi part, but I was not ready for the negativity this show was bringing. And damn, the lowkey mecha feeling with the girl entering that massive costume.
I really cannot wait for more.
Hachi-nan tte, Sore wa Nai deshou!
So far so bland. 2 episodes in and this show has been underdelivering.
It did attempt a dark turn but it felt okay. Character designs are nice, needs more action and hopefully that one comes soon.
Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen 2
Okay, I think my regrets about the first season is about to be washed away.
2 episodes in and the show is actually having developments that I wished happened during the first season.
But anyhow I think I’m a little more confident about the show now.
Houkago Teibou Nisshi
So far I am only an episode in, but I think I will always have fun out of these type of chill shows.
I personally love fishing/prawning so this might potentially be an educational show for me.
Gotta take notes.
I won’t be talking about this show after this post since it’s gonna be delayed after the 3rd ep. So yeah, it will be back on whichever seasons it decides to resume.
Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai?: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen
1 episode is enough to make this show reach for the top spot.
I don’t think I need to write much here. I had a great time with this show previously, I’m pretty sure they will keep the momentum going.
Kitsutsuki Tantei Dokoro
Its a pretty nice twist, first episode things are already going down.
I don’t want to put my judgement too soon, as this show can either go full theory and bore the hell out of me, or being extremely interesting.
So… is this going to be the next Gurren Lagann or what.
To be honest, the whole world building felt to be that way. 2 episodes in and it is a bit slow. It’s a 12 episode show so I am not exactly confident that the story is going to progress well.
But the cast list is pretty darn lit, hopefully the show doesn’t disappoint.
Nami yo Kiitekure
I am genuinely confused about where this show is going for.
I don’t want to drop the show for not understanding the show, so it’s time to rewatch the 2 episodes and hopefully find my way back on track
Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shiteshimatta…
I am genuinely enjoying the show. Uchida Maaya is really doing a good job driving the show.
2 episodes in with minimal developments but the show is showing a lot of potential.
I can’t wait for the grown-up version to start coming in and twist this whole plot.
Shachou, Battle no Jikan desu!
I picked this one up out of nowhere with zero context about it. So apparently its from a mobile game with a semi-lit cast list.
2 episodes in and the show has been rather decent, at least it made sense in terms of the business front.
But the monster hunting side though… I’m not sure about that one. But I’mma just watch a little more.
Shokugeki no Souma: Go no Sara
Nothing need to be said here, just here for the food.
These girls are more masculine than me, I’m embarrassed.
But so far girls playing baseball is pretty cute so I’m just gonna enjoy myself with this one.
Just enjoying the ecchi. And so far so good. Wakamoto Norio in the 2nd ep literally killed me.
Yesterday wo Utatte
I think this show is a hidden gem as I have seen no one talking about it.
1st ep already rejected by a girl and 2nd ep is about getting over said girl. So many relatable moments that I just want to stop watching, but I can’t.
That’s all for this post. A generally bad season as this point as more than 6 shows of my list got postponed and I was generally hyped for them.
But anyhow, coronavirus is really hitting Japan hard at the moment so we cannot blame them. All these delays really made me kind of unmotivated to write seasonal posts. I will look at the season list again to see if there is anything else to pick up.
Next post will be in a few days. See you all then.
