What I Am Watching: Spring 2020

Hi hi, I’m back to talk about the future…

Yes, next season stuff. This is going to be a weird season. I looked at the season list for over 20 mins before I can actually pick a show. I don’t know why it took me that long. Before I picked my shows, I have been looking at sequels.

But yeah, after contemplating with my shows, I finally have a list. This season I’m “only” watching 16 shows. I have been cutting on the amount of shows I am watching so I can better manage my time.

But without further ado, let’s get this post started.

The show title may be rather… normal, but the cast, premise really pulled me in.

Its been quite awhile since we heard Komatsu Mikako voicing a main role, and looking at the PVs, she sound pretty darn refreshing and I am really in love with it. The rest of the cast are pretty darn heavy weighted.

Cute designs, controversial topic of girls doing what guys do back in the 16th century Italy. Seven Arcs has been ranking pretty high in my list so I will be pinning my hopes on this.

I don’t really know about this one. But the term “ecchi” pulled me in so I going to expect something pretty obscene.

Not gonna top Ishuzoku Reviewers but hopefully no more cancellations.

Hachinan tte, Sore wa Nai Deshou!

So… this might be the only isekai show I picked for the season, so why not.

Nothing to really comment about but to put my expectations a little low. But one thing for sure, SynergySP is a name I haven’t heard in a long time. Picked this show up for this reason. The cast list so far looks pretty decent.

Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen 2

I didn’t particularly loved the first season. The first 5 mins of the show really blew me away and then the show just flatlined all the way to the end.

I personally think I overhyped this show, but I didn’t exactly hated the show. So I’m just going to watch this 2nd season with that little array of hope that the story would expand and plot twist the way I like.

Houkago Teibou Nisshi

I don’t think anyone really know this, but… I actually loved fishing. I used to fish prawns/shrimps and a bit of fishes. But I don’t usually keep them but I let them free after catching them. So basically fish for fun. But I do keep some shrimps as my family loves them.

But that aside, I went “fishing” for more info about the show, watched the trailer and everything. I think this is going to be a fun chill show to watch.

Cast list looks rather solid, Doga Kobo doing more slice-of-lives, I think they can just keep sticking to doing such shows as they have been slaying for the past few years with the source material they chose to adapt.

Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai?: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen

One of my most anticipated shows in 2020. Can’t wait for more ridiculous nonsense in that room and more Ishigami Yuu relatable moments.

Nothing really need to be said here.

Kitsutsuki Tantei Dokoro

I have always loved historical shows or shows with historical settings, so I will pick this one up just for that.

Probably the most stacked cast list for this season.

Some are professional singer seiyuus, so I think this show will be pretty nice. Going to put my expectations a little high for now.

Hopefully my senses isn’t off.

Nami yo Kiitekure

I am a little confused with the main character’s gender for a bit but I think everything is pretty much solved after reading in a little bit. Sunrise making a slice-of-life is pretty rare nowadays so I wanted to give this one a try.

I am not sure what I am getting myself into just yet so I will hold my judgement.

Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shiteshimatta…

Uchida Maaya as a villainess? I am down!

But this show would be a rather interesting one, always wanted to see how an antagonist works.

This is going to be pretty nice and funny. Rest of the list looks rather nice as well.

Shokugeki no Souma: Go no Sara

I actually forgot this season exists. Yeah, of course I picked it up.

Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld Part 2

11 episodes, I have my doubts about how they are going to end the arc officially in 11 episodes.

From the last episode we were still on the midst of building up something epic, so I think this will drag on towards this season. I personally wished it would be 13 episodes long, as 2 episodes sometimes can make a difference in story quality if executed correctly.

Ono Manabu has been doing a rather decent job with the adaptation so far, so I have no choice but to put a bit of faith in him, hopefully he can break that A-1 curse.

Watching girls play baseball because why not?

The list is pretty much flooded with a bunch of rookie seiyuus, so I guess this show is going to be like an audition to see which girl to look out for in the future.

Tsugu Tsugumomo

Not particularly a fan of the first season, but it was decent. So watching a sequel is going to be pretty much for the sake of continuity.

Hopefully this season improves.

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Kan

So I guess this season is going to be the last season since the kanji “Kan” in a way means “Finale”.

But that aside, I have been pretty vocal about why I am still watching the show despite not being a fan, and I don’t understand why I am not loving the show when it was extremely relatable to me on many different levels.

I am determined to find out why, so I will keep watching. If I still cannot understand why I cannot love the show, then I will rewatch everything from the first season to this one.

Yesterday wo Utatte

I can’t wait for more coming-of-age stories. I can’t wait for this show to start.

The cast list looks pretty solid as well.

And that’s it for my plan-to-watch for next season. A pretty chill season I suppose, a good build up before Summer comes.

But there are still some worries.

J.C.Staff is doing two shows this season, sounds about right, but looking at how long Railgun was delayed due to the coronovirus, I am surprised they are going to work on 2 heavyweights next season. Hopefully Souma’s quality won’t be affected majorly.

That’s all for this post. Not a lot of shows, but chill shows. My wrap-up for Winter will come next week as there are shows that are still ongoing. Expect a pretty lengthy post next week. And since I’m not working tomorrow, if I feel like it, I will write a post. No promises.

I will see you guys then.
