Wow, I am really trying hard to clear my backlogs huh, I’m back for another review.
Finally got the opportunity to watch this movie, took awhile, but we will get there.
This movie adapts the 5th volume of the light novel and it is 90 minutes long. Adequate length for a movie.
This movie may be made by J.C.Staff, but it has retained the director and scriptwriter. More on the animation quality later.
But I probably had never laughed this hard during my 2 seasons of Konosuba. This is genuinely the best thing I ever watched from KonoSuba.
The story is all over the place, just how I like it. The antics are great, so great that I am SO tempted to spoil it.
Very highkey sexual jokes, very highkey chuunibyou cringe, very highkey dumb Aqua. The pacing is great. I don’t think I have a lot to say, but to tell you to watch it when you have a opportunity, I am this close to spoiling it.
The story still does buildup slowly, despite the comedy. The climax was really well done, while constantly blending in the comedy, the action still stands out.
Overall, just watch the damn movie. If you hate it, you probably have shit taste.
J.C.Staff is in-charge here, they really love picking up sequels from other studios huh.
I have to praise them here. I was genuinely uncomfortable with Deen’s designs from the start. J.C.Staff stuck with those designs, but they enhanced them and made them more presentable.
The combat looks extremely great, I am mindblown with the quality they did with the magic, explosions, everything. I wondered why they cannot pull off with this quality in OPM S2.
But, overall, a very eye-pleasing piece of work.
I think they didn’t really put a lot of effort in this. The ending was okay, the BGMs are pretty subpar, but they fit the atmosphere, so that isn’t so bad.
Give and take I guess.
Including the old casts, we get a lot more new people to voice the rest of the Crimson Clan Village.
Hara Sayuri, Inada Tetsu, Naganawa Maria, Takahashi Hiroki, Noto Mamiko, Nazuka Kaori, Tomita Miyu, Suzushiro Sayumi, Nakajima Yoshiki, Hase Miki, Mogami Tsugue, Watanabe Akeno.
I think the list is pretty great. Noto Mamiko’s character definitely surprises me the most. We rarely see her voice in a character with such a crazy personality.
Highly recommended. Of course, watch the first two seasons first, I think this is pretty obvious.
That’s all for me on this one. It’s just a quickie since I finished the film so I want to get this out of the way before I forget.
More posts are planned in the weekends so yeah, stay tuned.
See you guys then!
