Heyo. I was planning to finish this A LONG LONG TIME ago, but when I started it, I finished it in just 3 days, with S2 locked and loaded for marathon mode.
Manga origin. 1st season only 13 ep, weird that after the hype got so real that Bones decided to go 25 from S2 onwards. That’s great, lengthier marathon time for me.
Story starts of pretty slow and sort of generic with the underdog MC route. But when the action kicks in, it kicks in pretty hard. Most of the season is still pretty much learning how to be a hero and its at the beginning stages. The climax did come in at the right timing and took their time to execute it. Near perfect story telling, but with the 13 eps schedule, can tell that the pacing needs more work. Hopefully with 25 (or 26) eps for S2, they could fix this. Ending is a cliffhanger since they confirmed S2 anyway. Overall, One Punch Man feels-esque show for me.
Animations by Bones. Pretty nicely done, accurate and vibrant character designs. Combat scenes were rather decent, not great. Colors were vivid and I love the direction they are going with the art, but they need to invest a little more with the combat scene.
Music is great. Not feeling the OP and ED, but they are nice. BGMs were wonderful.
VAs is a pretty great. Yamashita Daiki, Okamoto Nobuhiko, Sakura Ayane, Ishikawa Kaito, Kaji Yuki, Miyake Kenta, Yuki Aoi, Inoue Marina, Kitamura Eri, Nazuka Kaori, Shindo Kei, Hirohashi Ryo, Hosoya Yoshimasa, Hatano Wataru, Suwabe Junichi, Yoshino Hiroyuki, Watanabe Akeno, Uchiyama Koki, Shimono Hiro. Its a massive list and nearly everyone are veterans, this is a wonderful list. I love it.
Highly recommended, brings out the shounen within me.
I will finish up on S2 asap and write it so that I can catch up with S3.
