So yeah… I planned to do 3 weekly impressions, but things were hectic and totally forgotten about it. But hey! I watched 3 eps each so I can do a proper impression post instead!
Itsudatte Bokura no Koi wa 10 cm Datta.
As a fan of Honeyworks, and the series, I have to watch it. This time it tells the story of Miou and Haruki. 6 eps confirmed, Lay-duce took over Qualia, I think this could have been better if it is made as a movie like the previous 2 movies, but probably around 1hr 45mins or more.
The story starts slow like the previous movies, but when it goes fast, it goes, REALLY fast. Ep2 already had a pretty deep plot twist that I never expected. The low tone carries on to ep3, and I can’t wait for more. This show is probably one of the deepest of the series so far and the story was planned out pretty nicely for 6 eps. Keeping it a tight but nice package. We all probably know how the ending will be but hey, its the journey that counts in this show. Music still wonderful, Lay-duce maintained character designs but I think I like this one better than Qualia in terms of general animation. I cannot possibly drop this.
Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru: Yuusha no Shou
a 6eps sequel? Better than nothing.
I felt that the comedy was massively amplified after Washio Sumi and it has kept that way for Yuusha no Shou too. It made the original look stale in terms of comedy, but impactful in terms of seriousness of the show in general.
Ep 1 and already things are going down, ep 2 became actionpacked, and when we thought it was over simple as that, ep3 starts another roller coaster again. They are pulling off what 10cm is doing, but better. They are experienced in making wonderful things in a compact package, and it paid off. Can’t wait for the remaining eps and see how fast things will go. I cannot drop this one too, it’s just too good to drop.
I also picked up Blend S, Mahoujin Guru Guru, the Osake fufu show mid season, enjoyed both, detailed stuff at the end of the season.
Both are undroppable and pretty recommended. Ok, maybe 10cm is only for people who like less cheesy romance.
