Well, I’m dead: Highschool of The Dead

Hey all, this is the planned post. Took me awhile, but I still did it.

The manga was incomplete, permanently, such a pity. I really love the manga. The anime aired for 12 eps and one OVA. It feels very incomplete since it had a lot of potential.

The anime is just pulling me in with how mindblowing the fanservice physics can get in an anime. The story got pretty nice with some realism pushing down the fanservice madness. The pacing is just nice for 12 eps but the ending so such a cliffhanger and just when things are getting good. Bullet physics, slow-mo, it just makes this show a wonder. Character development was not neglected and was pretty deep and realistic. Overall, it was nice, but a continuation would have been great. OVA was just 15mins of even more epic fanservice so yeah, nothing much to see.

Animations by Madhouse. It’s great, combat scenes and slowmo keyframes was incredibly smooth. Character designs was great. Colors were vivid and lines were crispy.

Music was great. Kishida Kyoudan and the Akeboshi Rockets were great. BGMs were nicely composed too.

VAs are a pretty nice list. Suwabe Junichi, Harada Hitomi, Inoue Marina, Sawashiro Miyuki, Kitamura Eri, Hiyama Nobuyuki, Fukui Yukari, Taketatsu Ayana, Miyano Mamoru, Taniyama Kishio, Nakata Jouji, Sakakibara Yoshiko. This is a damn nice list, all of them did their work.

Score: TV | OVA

Story: 8/10 | 7/10

Art: 8/10

Music: 8/10

VAs: 8.5/10

Highly recommended as you can see the decline of human society and civilization. It’s a pity we will never get to see this fine piece of work. Beware the cliffhanger can be displeasing.

Next shows that I want to complete are GA and Chitan… I mean Hyouka, but it will take some time so be patient.
