The Mirror Goes Lewd: Akiba’s Trip Undead & Undressed

Heyo. Lets make this Friday a little… dirty…

This game has been out for quite awhile now. Its available on PS3, PSVita, PS4 and PC. I played the PC version of course.

The gameplay is like Neptunia U. VN with hack and slash, but with a twist, you have to strip your enemies to win them. Clothing is pretty much your armor in the game. But your weapons are pretty much from everyday life. From briefcase to laptops. From sticks to bats. You can boost your stats by leveling and also boost your weapons by combining them. Same as your “armor”. You can do side missions instead of progressing the story. The story has many endings, which helps because the storyline for each ending were pretty damn short. I can finish one in 2 days. Ending for every route seems pretty nicely done. This game is borderline lewd so… I don’t know… just play with your parents at home?

Gameplay mechanics are extremely buggy. From camera angles to audio glitching problems, this has to be one of my buggiest games I have ever played. I like the combat system, but the bugs sometimes destroys the fun. If you are patient, this game might be ok for you. This game is recommended if you use controller, because the control mapping is controller-oriented, PC gaming might be quite a chore.

This game used PhyreEngine which made it at one point of time a PS exclusive game, but slowly ported to PC. Graphics wise were decent, but it was limited to 30fps, which was a shame. I modded it to 60fps and it looked good again. Graphic options were pretty limited, but my laptop can run the game at max settings so no worries about requirements.

Music seems pretty good. I love it.

Cast list is pretty legit. Osaka Ryota, Saito Chiwa, Misawa Sachika, Kanemoto Hisako, Nakamura Eriko, Suzaki Aya, Yamashita Daiki, Yamazaki Haruka. I love all of their voices, but I think Eriko voicing Shion was just great. Aya also voiced best imouto too.

Story: 8/10

Gameplay: 7/10

Interface: 8/10

Graphics: 8/10

Music: 7/10

VAs: 9/10

Highly recommended for all thirsty people out there. Its a fun game, but if you don’t mind the glitches, just deal with it.
