Hey hey!!! I know I reached 200 followers, but this is not the special celebration post, I need to plan it out. Just a tip, I’m doing a music one. It will come out tomorrow.
I played this one quite a long time again, this is my 4th Neptunia game and also 4th installment to the Neptunia series, and of course, I played on PC. It took me about a week to finish this. Actually, this game is quite long, but not as long as Re;birth 3. This game is like a movie trilogy in a game, it has 3 parts, each part serves as a chapter, opposed to the previous installations with dozen of chapters.
Storyline goes into 2 more dimensions, and when you reached a certain level, you can travel all three dimensions. As usual, the map changes, but travelling is absolutely a chore now, but slightly fun. It has midpoints from one place to another, and also you get random monsters pops out at each midpoints, slowing down your travels. The battle system is pretty much the same as Re;birth 3, but EXP does not share with the characters on standby, you have to keep training the characters individually, which is another chore. Such changes made the gameplay a bit on the downside, but they compensates with even better new characters, a lot more mousefriendly interface, an even more entertaining storyline and new HDD transformations. Uzume is kinda now my no.2 fave now. Character developments is a bit low on this one. Ending felt a bit heavy but the gags ended up covering it up, making it go on the flatline again.
Graphics got even better, it’s definitely one of the best in the Neptunia series, that my old laptop with an AMD HD7470M with overclock had problems running it at max settings at 1366×768 resolution. And finally, you get even more graphics settings. You can toggle shadows, depth of field, V-sync, AA, textures. I really needed that Vsync setting, Re;Birth 3 had terrible Vsync, lucky I can toggle that. Even with the Vsync off, the game limits it to 60fps, which is ok for me. At max settings, the game looks beautiful, its definitely the best in the Neptunia series.
Music stuck the same, but the OP was not bad, as usual.
VAs stuck to the same but we get even more voices. Including the old cast, they added Hidaka Rina, Tomatsu Haruka, Taketatsu Ayana, Uchida Maaya, Ai Ichitaro, Bifu Hitoshi, Honda Mariko, Murakawa Rie, Hayami Sho. It’s nice, I love Haruka and Maaya. But the real MVP is Mariko’s role, Uzume, her moe moe is damn… eargasm.
Score:
Story: 8/10
Graphics: 8/10
Interface: 7/10
Music: 7/10
VAs: 9/10
Highly recommended, it’s cheap, it’s fun, it’s moe-filled with wonderful eargasm voices.
Favorite game in the main series by far with Nep 2 coming in second.
