Obedient Librarian or Naughty Shepard?: Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai

Short review to kick off the weekend.

I dropped this show once after like 3eps because if its mediocre pacing and storyline, but I decided to watch it again, and managed to finish it. Was it better? Not really.

Origin, VN. Anime last for only 12eps, but it was enough.

Storyline pacing was ok at first, but then it speeds up and slows down randomly. Storyline was decent, but not outstanding. Its using intense fanservice and more girls to bring the show together. The show does escalate at some point, but not too much and not really much intense feels. But I love the moe surrounding the story to lighten up things. Ending felt very empty, as if it went back to the beginning again. Character development is minimal to none, you don’t see much progression.

Animations from Hoods Entertainment, the guys behind Gawoware. The animations felt slightly better from Her Flag, but it stills very underwhelming, especially when it was 2014 when it aired. Character designs were ok, they could have been better, the VN has better designs. Colors were felt very… bland.

Music was ok. I loved the OP, but the ED was ok. BGMs were decent.

VAs is a pretty nice list. Majima Junji, Yonezawa Madoka, Yamamoto Nozomi, Sendai Eri, Tanezaki Atsumi, Morikubo Showtaro, Sato Rina. The cast was nice, but maybe too good for the show.

Story: 7/10

Art: 7/10

Music: 8/10

VAs: 8/10

  1. I made it through this series but even after being reminded about it I can’t remember anything about the characters or storyline. I do remember I didn’t hate it, but I don’t remember anything particularly good about it either.
