One more review… just one more… Just a simple one….
Its a spin-off manga so it has no relations from the original whatsoever. Anime ran pretty much like the original, 12eps.
The storyline is more refined and deeper too. The new characters felt more welcome over the original cast. Fanservice is more on the sweet and fun side over the conservative original. The battles were more enjoyable and they managed to make the original cast be more entertaining too. Ending felt ok, they managed to wrap it up pretty nicely. I doubt I want more of this, but its worth rewatching though. The one major plot twist is that the new main girl actually had something hidden all along, she wasn’t as weak as most people expected, she was quite OP herself. They glorified Aria way more than the original.
Animations by Dogakobo, its looks so much better than J.C.Staff’s sloppy original. Its more vivid, its sharper and the combat scenes are more legit.
Music is ok, OP is slightly better and the ED felt like it became generic. BGMs were ok.
VAs is a nice list. Kugimiya Rie, Sakura Ayane, Hashimoto Chinami, Asakura Momo, Imamura Ayaka, M.A.O, Takahashi Mikako, Minase Inori, Ise Mariya, Ishihara Kaori, Kayano Ai, Yuki Aoi, Horie Yui, Sarah Emi Bridcutt, Nakahara Mai, Majima Junji, with a lot of newbies too. They did the job and the script they had made their characters more lovable than ever.
Score
Story: 8.5/10
Art: 8/10
Music: 8/10
VAs: 9/10
Recommended, even if you didn’t watch the original, they pretty much explain from scratch so no worries you are not missing anything.
I liked the original, even if this spin-off has been better received.
